Healthcare Data Software Leader Will Expand Current Facility by 12,000 Square Feet; Expansion Project Expected to be Completed by September

Investment Complements “Finger Lakes Forward” – The Region’s Comprehensive Strategy to Revitalize Communities and Grow the Economy

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the expansion of eHealth Technologies in Henrietta, Monroe County. The renowned healthcare data software firm expects to create up to 160 new full-time positions and retain another 215 positions. The company is also expanding its current facility on Thruway Park Drive by 12,000-square-feet, with the project expected to be completed by September.

“The progress we have seen across upstate New York is undeniable and eHealth Technologies’ continued investment in the region is yet another clear signal the Finger Lakes is moving forward,” Governor Cuomo said. “eHealth has a very bright future in the region and we are proud to partner with them to ensure they continue to call New York home.  By working to create jobs and strengthen our local economies, we are setting generations of New Yorkers up for success.”

Founded in 2006, eHealth Technologies is an industry-leading provider of clinically informed referral services for the healthcare industry. eHealth Technologies serves more than half of the nation’s top 100 hospitals, including 16 of the top 20 U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll Hospitals for 2016-2017, and leading health information exchanges (HIEs) across the United States.

Ken Rosenfeld eHealth Technologies, Inc.  CEO said, “We are excited to continue our growth right here in Upstate New York and I thank Governor Cuomo for his partnership and leadership. We have had great access to both technical and customer service talent, and expect that the region will continue to support the hiring needs we have to meet our aggressive expansion plans, including more clinically-oriented roles. We are amongst a number of healthcare technology companies growing in the region, which we believe is well positioned to support this industry sector.”

To encourage eHealth Technologies to grow in the Greater Rochester area, Empire State Development is providing the company with up to $2 million in performance-based Excelsior tax credits in return for job creation and retention commitments over the next ten years.

Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Howard Zemsky said “The creation of up to 160 new jobs is very welcome news for the regional economy and adds to the momentum of the work being done through the Finger Lakes Forward economic development plan.  Governor Cuomo’s vision and commitment to Upstate revitalization efforts are truly paying off.”

The company’s eHealth Connect® solution enhances patient and physician satisfaction by streamlining referrals and intelligently aggregating patients’ medical records ensuring that physicians have the right information to care for their patients. eHealth Technologies newest service, Clinical Digest™ (patent pending), helps tell the patient’s medical story so that physicians can create an appropriate treatment plan prior to the patient’s first visit.  Clinical Digest extracts the key information from a patients medical record reducing the hundreds, even thousands of pages into an easy to read and accessible digital format. To date, the company has helped close to 900,000 patients receive the care they need and continues to expand to multiple specialties, major health networks, and regional health customers across the U.S.

Senator Patrick M. Gallivan said, “The decision by eHealth Technologies to expand its current operations in Henrietta is a testament to the continued revitalization of the greater Rochester region. Working together, eHealth and New York State are investing in the future by protecting existing jobs and generating new opportunities for residents as we move the Finger Lakes forward.”

Assemblyman Henry B. Bronson said, “I applaud Ken Rosenfeld and eHealth Technologies for their commitment to our region. Today’s announcement by the company and Governor Cuomo shows that the Rochester area is in a strong educational and economic position to create jobs for the future.”

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo said, “I am proud that eHealth Technologies has chosen to expand right here in Monroe County. As our economy continues to surge and businesses continue to see the opportunities that exist in Monroe County, they can rest assured that we have the right business climate and the skilled workforce necessary to get the job done. Monroe County is open for business.”

Accelerating Finger Lakes Forward

Today’s announcement complements “Finger Lakes Forward,” the region’s comprehensive blueprint to generate robust economic growth and community development. The State has already invested more than $3.4 billion in the region since 2012 to lay the groundwork for the plan – investing in key industries including photonics, agriculture? and food production, and advanced manufacturing. Today, unemployment is down to the lowest levels since before the Great Recession; personal and corporate income taxes are down; and businesses are choosing places like Rochester, Batavia and Canandaigua as a destination to grow and invest in.

Now, the region is accelerating Finger Lakes Forward with a $500 million State investment through the Upstate Revitalization Initiative, announced by Governor Cuomo in December 2015. The State’s $500 million investment will incentivize private business to invest well over $2.5 billion – and the region’s plan, as submitted, projects up to 8,200 new jobs.
