Pioneer Valley Information Exchange Users (PVIX) can now Access Medical Images, Providing a More Comprehensive View of Patient Records
Rochester, N.Y., January 14, 2016 – eHealth Technologies, the leading provider of image enabled HIE solutions and Baystate Health, one of the largest integrated healthcare systems in New England, are pleased to announce that users of the Pioneer Valley Information Exchange (PVIX) can now access diagnostic quality images for radiology exams that have been performed at six locations across western Massachusetts.
eHealth Technologies’ eHealth Connect® Image Exchange enables physicians and other care providers using PVIX to view images from any connected location on a common, web-based, zero-client diagnostic quality viewing platform — eHealthViewer®. In addition, PVIX users are able to access an HIE-wide worklist that allows them to view two or more imaging studies from different locations in a common image viewing session for quick comparisons, without having to first transfer them into their local PACS.
“PVIX continues to empower healthcare providers in the region with the critical and timely health information necessary to provide more efficient care and to ultimately deliver a better patient experience,” stated Joel Vengco, CIO, Baystate Health. “This partnership will positively impact patients by eliminating the need for unnecessary duplicate imaging exams while reducing the cost of care.”
“Our partnership with Baystate Health will yield numerous benefits by replacing conventional, complex & costly methods of sharing images with a single, automated service provided through the HIE,” stated Gary Larson, Executive Vice President & General Manager, HIE solutions for eHealth Technologies. “By having immediate access to medical images anywhere and anyplace PVIX users will be able to provide faster, more efficient care. Furthermore, including medical images in conjunction with the patients’ longitudinal health record should also enable more clinically-informed decisions.”
