IT Product Owner

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creation, decomposition, and prioritization of scrum team level work.
  • Communicates product vision to scrum teams and makes decisions regarding feature prioritization in alignment with the Product Roadmap.
  • Collaborates with Product Manger as needed to refine features and confirm desired outcomes.
  • Leads one or more scrum teams in collaboration with Scrum Masters and Delivery leads.
  • Leads grooming and prioritization of feature ready backlog and ensures backlog is sufficient to maintain high productivity of scrum teams.
  • Responsible for driving decomposition of features into user stories and aligning the backlog of user stories, user story acceptance criteria and tasks with scrum team.
  • Collaborates with scrum team to align highest value features to sprints included in each planning cycle.
  • Collaborates with Release Train managers to ensure feature and user story delivery alignment across dedicated and non-dedicated agile teams.
  • Guide cross-functional teams to create, develop, and implement products.
  • Analyze and provide reporting metrics to leadership on product growth and development.

Leadership & Supervision:

  • Support & drive the Company’s Mission, Vision, Values, and strategic objectives and key results.
  • Support the recruitment process by completing interviews and providing timely feedback in the candidate selection process.
  • Plans/host quarterly engagement team activities (virtual and/or in person)
  • Responsible for approving semi-monthly time reporting for all team members, including PTO requests, etc.
  • Instills a strong sense of customer focus and professionalism throughout the team. Always expected to role model company values when interacting with individuals from his/her team, customers, internal partners, etc.
  • Motivates team in a calm and positive manner to ensure their success while providing development opportunities for team members to exceed expectations on a regular basis.
  • Provides regular team member recognition, including personal recognition and recognizing team members throughout the larger organization through avenues such as emails, Kudos Corner, Town Hall recognition, and other company wide recognition opportunities.
  • Creates and supports a culture of trust, engagement, and inclusion for all employees.
  • Routinely monitors team members’ individual performance and quality and takes necessary actions to address any performance or quality issues as soon as possible.
  • Writes and delivers 30/60/90 day and annual performance reviews and develops goals for each team member including a developmental action plan that is reviewed and updated on a quarterly basis and shared with Director of Operations for their individual growth and development and future progression based on the employees’ career aspirations.
  • Monitors individual growth and development of each team member to ensure they are performing to their best abilities. Provides ongoing performance feedback to enable team members to successfully meet/exceed their job expectations.
  • Assesses and promotes training opportunities to continually increase the skill of team members.
  • Proactively works to creatively solve problems and overcome challenges, including completing root cause analysis, and creating action plans.

Management Reporting:

Monitors progression of workload activities daily and reports on an as needed basis highlighting potential customer issues. Escalates issues immediately to Director of Product Management as needed.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, communication, engineering or related field, or equivalent or Associates degree plus equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of Product Owner experience in a highly technical space
  • Experience managing the creation and maintenance of user stories and business requirements for new features and enhancements leveraging multiple work streams.
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian Product Management tools – Jira, Confluence, etc.
  • Ability to understand basic and complex architectural diagrams and data flows
  • Exposure to agile software development methodologies
  • Broad knowledge of theory and principles of process control.
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, Word and Microsoft Office
  • The ability to interact and cooperate with all employees.
  • Healthcare industry experience a plus

  1. Following eHealth Technologies’ information privacy and security policies, procedures, standard operating procedures, appendices, attachments, etc.
  2. Accessing, using, and disclosing only the minimum necessary covered information that is needed for job responsibilities, or otherwise allowed by law.
  3. Safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of covered information at all times, whether or not on duty.

Key Relationships:

  1. Directly supervised by Director of Product Management
  2. Interacts regularly with eHealth Technologies staff, customers, and vendors

Essential Functions:

  1. Physical Requirements: Extended periods of time typing, data entry, sitting, read, writing. Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  2. Mental Requirements include General, Visual, and Numerical Intelligence. Analytical skills.
  3. Work requires willingness to occasionally work a flexible schedule.
  4. As eHealth Technologies’ workforce is currently working in a hybrid model, when teleworking remotely from home, it is a requirement of the position that employees have the following minimum requirements available:
    • A private workspace the meets the requirements of the Teleworking Security (HITRUST-21) Policy
    • A home internet network that meets the requirements of Teleworking Security (HITRUST-21) Policy, including:
      • A router that must achieve minimum speeds of 100MBPS for download and 10MBPS for upload, or any other higher speed required for the work to be produced contingent upon your role.
      • Availability of at least two (2) Ethernet connections in the router to the internet source is required (for your PC and phone).
      • Workstation should be plugged directly into the router as a hardwire connection to high-speed internet is critical to maintaining approved speeds for optimal functioning of various operational hardware, software, and tools, as required for work performance; an appropriate Wi-Fi connection may satisfy this connection to high-speed internet.
      • The router should be updated regularly with the latest firmware, or ultimately replaced if router speeds are not within the minimum specifications above.
